Philanthropy & Specific Projects

Play a fulfilling and personalised part in the LSO’s music-making.

The LSO is indebted to generous individuals who provide crucial philanthropic support to particular projects close to their heart.

With an extensive artistic and educational programme, and a truly global reach through touring and digital broadcast, the LSO is uniquely positioned to use the transformative power of music to change lives. Indeed, now more than ever, our ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit seeks to redefine the role of an Orchestra in the 21st century and the impact we can achieve, thanks to our philanthropic partners.

Wherever your passion lies – whether supporting a well-loved piece of repertoire, a favourite soloist or LSO musician, enabling an impactful education project, or even commissioning a new work – your support could make possible a part of the LSO’s world-leading programme.

‘After recent performances I don’t need any convincing of the Orchestra’s brilliance or of our wisdom in supporting it. I tell everyone I meet how proud I am to be associated with it.’ – Richard Hardie, LSO Board Member & Patron

‘Congratulations to the LSO Discovery team for achieving so much during these testing times. We are impressed by the breadth of your reach, the number of school visits and the educational value of your instrument demonstration videos. We continue to believe in the importance of your work with young people and sincerely hope that normal operating conditions will return soon. Meanwhile keep nurturing the fighting spirit that has served you so well since the pandemic hit.’ – Peter & Christine, Switzerland

LSO Opera Circle

Since 2019 we have been partnering with world-class singers to create ground-breaking, semi-staged operatic performances of the highest calibre.

Building on the success of The Cunning Little Vixen in 2019 and Katya Kabanova in 2023, the next installment of the LSO’s opera performances will see Sir Simon Rattle continuing his complete cycle of Janáček operas, with a performance of Jenůfa in January 2024.

The Opera Circle is a group of opera lovers committed to enabling this phase of operatic and artistic excellence with LSO. The support of the Opera Circle helps us to realise our ambitions to perform profound operatic works with some of the world’s pre-eminent soloists.

Alongside the satisfaction of enabling a production of the highest quality, supporters enjoy a range of special benefits bringing them closer to the performance.
